DIY Flag Pole Holder Bracket
Quick Navigation
Follow the steps to make a flag pole bracket. It will be an easy process to follow given below:Ā
Step 1: Mark Centre on One End
At first, we will need to mark the center of the pole. We can do this using our 4/4 clamp. Then we need to clamp it in one place with the help of bar clamps.
Step 2: Spade-bit With Electric Drill
After that, we need to drill a hole through the piece of our wood. The hole should be drilled from one end to another. We can do this by using a spade bit in the electric drill.
Step 3: Cut Off the End
Then we need to cut the end of the holder. The end of the holder should be cut using at a 45- degree angle if we want to display the flag at 45 degrees. If we do not wish to display the flag at 45-degree, then we can cut it at a different angle, the angle we want the flag to be displayed at.
At whatever angle we cut it, it will be displayed from vertical when you put it inside the bracket, and the bracket is mounted to the wall. But we need to keep in mind not to cut it at a very extreme angle, like at very low angles or very high angles vertically.
Doing so will result in a very little part of the holder being left to keep our flag stable. In the case of very high angles, there is a chance that our holder may slide out.
Step 4: Sand the Surface
After performing the third step, we need to make sure to sand the surfaces of our holder. We need to do this until the surfaces are completely smooth. This will avoid too much friction from being generated. We need to do this with the help of sandpaper.
Step 5: Clamp the Angle-Cut
Then we need to clamp the angle cut end of the holder to the middle of our baseboard. After that, we need to clamp both to our work surface.
Step 6: Pre-Drill Holes
Pre-drilling holes will avoid us from facing any complications. We need to pre-drill four screw holes into our holder from the back of our base. The holes should be drilled near each corner, and they must also be parallel in accordance with the holder.
They must be parallel at an angle through the base. This will help the screws to be fully sunk to the holder. Then, we need to put both the pieces together using the wood screws.
Step 7: Paint the Flag Holder Bracket
We can choose any color we prefer- blue, green, white, black, turquoise, red etc. It is totally up to us which color would we want to paint the pole. To finally install the flag, we will need a 2-inch wood screw. Using a 2-inch wood screw we need to mount it (the flag along with the pole) to the wall from which we want it to be displayed.
Then we need to insert the end of our flagpole into the holder. And weāre done with our process. If we carefully analyze the steps before performing the procedure, it will be quite easy for us to complete it. The steps are very simple and can be done by anyone, who goes through the steps carefully and thoroughly. All the materials that may be required must be kept in handy.
