Best Practices To Be Followed
Make use of the existing decor in the room. If you have posters or other artwork on the walls, speaker wires can be routed behind them to surround speakers. For this purpose, one of our colleagues uses foam fingers from sporting events.- Attach speaker wires to the room’s baseboards with cable clips with integrated nails. The cords are not completely hidden in this situation, but they are absolutely out of the way.
- If the area has wall-to-wall carpeting, the wires can be tucked between the carpet and the baseboards, making them almost undetectable.
- Use light strips to your advantage. If your room has light strips, you can run speaker wires across them to make them unnoticeable.
- Run the cables beneath throw rugs or even the room’s carpet. The most OK cables for this are flat cables like Sewell Ghost Wire.
- Connect the speakers to the wall with a speaker cable.
- Sewell Ghost Wire, for example, has an adhesive on one side that allows you to attach it to baseboards or even up a wall.
- You can even paint it any color to have it fit in, therefore making it undetectable.
- Use raceways or conduits that have been painted.
- Long cable conduits, ducts, and raceways are manufactured by several companies and are used to conceal wires in hollow structures installed along baseboards or at corners where walls meet.
- They can even be painted to match the wall color and run up the center of a wall to surround speakers.
- Surface raceways from CableOrganizer and the Wiremold CornerMate Cord Organizer are two examples.
- Use crown molding or architectural details to your advantage.
- If you plan to place a crown or baseboard molding in the room, you can obtain hollow moldings that allow cables to be routed through them, making the cables completely inconspicuous.
- The company also designs crown molding.
