The Roomba 690 is a pretty good cleaner for a low price. It gets the job done just well. The Neato D5 is more sophisticated and costly. Although both are almost similar in terms of cleaning, Neato has superior controls. If cleaning is your only priority, get the Roomba. It won’t hurt your pocket. If you want a higher-end product with superior features, get the Neato.
The Neato D5 has a D shaped body. This design allows it to get too tight corners and around furniture. This consequently results in better cleaning all across the room. The Roomba 690, on the other hand, has a circular design, like a disc. It can’t get into tight corners, which you have to clean manually. Neato D5 is the winner.

The Neato D5 has 23.7 ounces of bin capacity, while the Roomba has 16.3 ounce. For a regular house, 16.3 oz is enough. If you have a large house, or one that is very dirty, you may require a bigger bin. For such cases, Neato is the one for you.

You place these on the ground, and the cleaner won’t go to that place. The Roomba 690 uses small, black barriers. You place them as your wish, and the cleaner won’t go near the area. You have to buy these separately. Not much of a competition, still Neato D5 is the winner.

This is a very cool technology that only Neato provides. What happens is, the batteries don’t charge to the maximum. Instead, only that much is charged that can get the work done. A pretty simple yet effective way to reduce cleaning time. Roomba 690a doesn’t have any such technology. It needs to be fully charged before work. Neato D5 is the winner.
7. Recharge And Resume
The Neato never stops. When it’s battery is almost drained out, it returns back to the charging point. This works hand-in-hand with the previous technology. There’s no such functionality in Roomba. Clearly, Neato is the winner.

The Neato D5 shows you the area it just cleaned. This helps you see the dirtiest parts of the house at one glance. There’s no such feature with the Roomba. Neato S5 is definitely the winner here.
