Troubleshooting Luxpro Thermostat Won’t Change Temperature

1. Restarting your device:

If you are using any device and it is not working properly. The very first thing we do is reset the device. Even if you are using the Luxpro thermostat for the first time. It is very easy to restart it.

• The very first thing is to switch the device OFF.
• Now put off the thermostat from the wall and open the cover.
• Put off its battery for around 15 minutes and put it back.
• Now check for the reset button. It would have been at the sides of the device.
• Press that button for 5 seconds and now the thermostat is restarted.

2. Try To Perform a Hardware Reset:

If restarting the device does not fix your problem then you should go ahead with a hardware reset. A hardware reset is not so complicated process. It is simple even if you are using the Luxpro Thermostat for the first time only.

The steps are as follows:

• Switch the device OFF first.
• Now find the reset button for the hardware.
• The reset button for hardware must be labeled as “HW Reset” in white color.
• Press it for 5 seconds at least.
• Now the device is reset.

3. Try a Software Reset:

The very first step is restarting the device. Even if it is not get fixed then the next thing you can do is a software reset. But remember one thing after resetting of software all of the previous settings are erased. The resetting procedure is very simple.

• Switch the device to OFF mood.
• Just check for the reset button on your device. There should be a button on the right side labeled “SW Reset” in black color.
• Make a long press to the reset button.
• You should press it till the screen blinks.
• Now your device is reset. Do the settings again.

4. Cleaning Your Thermostat:

• Switch the device to OFF.
• You should, first of all, remove the outer cover’s dirt and dust using a soft brush or a cloth.

• Make sure not to touch any internal wiring there. It can harm the device.
• Now the cleaning is done. You can start the device and check the performance.

5. Check for wiring to fix the temperature issue

When checking for wiring make sure that the power is OFF. This is the most important

precaution that you should take care of. Steps are:

• Cut the power OFF.
• Now take off the back cover and open the device.
• Check if you can notice any wiring damage in it.
• Be careful not to touch that wiring as it is delicate.
• If you find anything wrong with the wiring then you should contact a professional to get it done.

6. Check for the batteries of the thermostat

It is advised to charge the battery of the thermostat every year. When you can see the LOW BAT symbol on the screen. It is the time when you should replace the battery.

Steps to be followed while replacing a battery are as given below.

• Take out and switch The device to OFF.
• Remove the base plate.
• Put off those batteries it.
• Put the new set of batteries in. There are marking given to act accordingly.

7. Checking for fixing the temperature:

3. Thermostats can be old now so detection of proper temperature is not possible.
4. The sensors are not working properly: If you have done the proper maintenance of the thermostat. You are using it. This may harm the temperature sensors of the device. 5. It might not be placed in a proper location: The device might not be placed at a proper location. It is not advised to place a thermostat in the corners of the room. It should be placed in a well-aerated place.

8. Thermostat is Locked

The thermostat is locked to prevent any kind of hazards. Now as we have locked the thermostat.

But we do have various types of thermostats like Carrier Thermostat, Nest Thermostat, Lux Thermostat, and Trane Thermostat.

1. Unlocking procedure for Carrier Thermostat: To unlock the Carrier Thermostat, click and hold together the mode and up and down arrow buttons. The locked icon will have vanished in some seconds.
2. Unlocking procedure for Nest Thermostat: To unlock the Nest Thermostat, Click and open the thermostat’s ring. You can see that the screen will display a lock. Now again click the ring. Enter the PIN. Now it will get unlocked.
3. Unlocking procedure for Lux Thermostat: To unlock the Lux Thermostat, Click the Next button three times. Now click the hold button. It will get unlocked.
4. Unlocking procedure for Trane Thermostat: To unlock the Trane Thermostat, click the plus and minus buttons together. Now press the hold buttons for 3-4 seconds. These steps will unlock the thermostat.

9. The thermostat in Auto Mode

The use of Auto Mode is basically that once set on a particular temperature on Auto mode then you cannot change the temperature of the thermostat.

In Auto Mode, the thermostat will have pre-programmed temperature ranges. In simple words, we can say that if a thermostat is set on auto mode the heat and cool temperature will be activated automatically within the heating and cooling schedules.

10. A thermostat is Broken:

You should check for all of the above methods for your thermostat to work fine. Even if the thermostat is not working then you should replace it. Before replacing it, check it manually.

11. Temperature Limits Are Set high Or Low

Temperature limits are set by the installer of the thermostat. Once the high and low of the thermostat are set, the temperature cannot be changed any further.
