How To Pick A Lock With The Knife?

Jab, Twist & Wiggle: It is difficult to find a tension wrench with us but we can find a knife sometimes. There is a knife in nail cutters which we can use to pick the lock. In this method, the knife does the work for both tension wrench and lock pick simultaneously.

Step 1: Find the knife and once you find it insert it into the keyhole of the lock till the tip of the knife touches the back of the lock.
Step 2: Now turn the knife towards the right side so that the lock pins feel some pressure. This is done in the same way as if you are trying to open the lock with the key. The pressure created by the knife on the lock pins will help in unlocking the lock in the next step.
Step 3: Slowly try to move the knife up and down to move the lock pins and finally open it.
Step 4: if in case you are not able to open the lock, remove the knife and try again a few times.

Awakening the deadbolt:  In the case of the deadbolt locks, when the door is open, we can still rotate the latch of the lock to avoid the closing of the lock.

Step 1: Take the knife and insert it in the keyhole of the lock as far as it can go. Make sure that you don’t apply too much pressure as it may damage the lock or the knife.
Step 2: Now rotate the knife in from left to right or from right to left till the time you hear a click. As soon as you hear the click, it ensures that the lock is now opened.
Step 3: In some cases, you will need to rotate the knife many times with some pressure to open the lock. But if your lock still doesn’t open then you may need to proceed further to the next step
Step 4: Take the knife out of the keyhole and insert it into the side of the door and try to locate the spring latch that keeps the door closed.
Step 5: as soon as you can locate the spring latch, push/ pull it towards the door inside and away from the door frame.
Step 6: Simultaneously try to rotate the doorknob with your other hand until the door opens.

This method may only work in cases where the door has only one latch. The doors with more than one latch can’t be easily opened and you may require help from the authorized person in this case.

For push-button locks: the push button locks are different from the others as they don’t have the keyhole. Opening the door there may be a little difficult but not impossible. We just need some patience and strength.

Step 1: Take the knife and slide it in between the door and the door frame. Continue doing this until there is some obstruction. The obstruction in this case will be the latch of the door which is our requirement. 
Step 2: once you find the latch, rotate the knife towards the door frame. Here we need the remove the door’s bolt to open the door. 
Step 3: try to push away the door lock from its slot with some pressure. Continue this until the door opens. You will require quite a strength here.

For spring-loaded locks: in this method, you will require a very thin knife. You may also use the tension wrench if available. These locks are a bit tricky and may need some more time than the others.

Step 1: Find this knife and put it in the door hole
Step 2: Slightly wiggle the lock pin and rotate it simultaneously
Step 3: Keep wiggling till the time you hear a click sound. This will ensure that you are doing the right thing.
Step 4: Continue the steps till the door finally opens 

If at any point you feel stuck with the lock or the lock gets damaged, you must call the lock opening person for help.

In this method, you will require quite a few tools and it may take some time therefore you need to be patient, and also you may need some luck as well.

Step 1: mostly here we require a tension wrench but if you don’t have the tension wrench there’s no need to worry, you may also use a knife but will require a bit more effort. Find a knife that is thin and can fit in the keyhole. Take that knife and insert it into the keyhole. It will be easier for you if you have a Swiss army knife.
Step 2: with some pressure try and rotate the knife in a clockwise direction or an anticlockwise direction according to the lock direction. This step is done to engage the lock mechanism. This happens in the same way as when we try to open the lock with a key.
Step 3: now you will require another item that will further help in the process. The item may be a strong wire or a metal strip or a bobby or a paper clip. Whatever item you choose should be strong, long, and thin enough to reach the end of the lock. This item will work as a lock pick.
Step 4: insert this item or lock pick inside the keyhole and raise it to some extent. Make sure that the lock pins also get raised along with our lock pick. This will make sure that we are moving on the proper path.
Step 5: as soon as the lock pick touches the lock pins, pull the lock pick out of the lock immediately and quickly. This will pull out the pins of the lock too. The pins won’t come out but they will help in the opening of the lock.
Step 6: the above step will ensure that the lock pins are moved up and the lock is opened. If the lock is not opened then you need to repeat the steps until you find success.

This method requires enough skills to achieve the required goal. For a new person it will be difficult in the beginning but repeating the steps will give the required results. You can also watch some expertise videos for using this method.

These methods will surely solve most of your problems but If you are still not able to open your locks, it is advised to contact the person who can make the artificial keys or a locksmith who can help to open the lock. 

For some of these methods, you may need practice or expertise to make it successful but the others are very easy and can be done comfortably. 
These methods are given to open the lock in the case where you lost the key or forgot the key somewhere. 

Misusing these tricks should be avoided as it may lead to serious problems because using it without the owner’s consent you are breaking the law and you can get into jail.
