1.Pick A Credit Card

Check your wallet for a suitable card as described above. Try to find a laminated card as it would provide quite a good amount of bending force and be more durable.

You will find a vertical gap that separates the doorjamb and the door. Now slide the card inside this gap or separation in such a way that it is perpendicular (90-degree angle) to the doorjamb.

You can even push the door back up to a certain extent where the lock is visible to you and you can work easily. It will be easier for you when the lock is slanted towards your direction and not inwards.

5. Tilt Card

Now slightly tilt the card and make sure that it touches the doorknob and push the card while you are pushing the door with your other hand. Try pushing it downwards until you start to feel the doorknob.

As soon as the card reaches the doorknob start pushing it in an opposite direction so that the card is laced between the latch and the doorknob itself. It will create pressure on the latch.

Make sure that your card is underneath the curved part of the doorknob. It will force the latch inside (which is our requirement). Once the latch is pushed inside, your door will get unlocked.

While you are forcing the card on to push the latch, push the door with your full body strength as it will help to open it more quickly and you will get the required result.

Quickly open the door and unlock it from the other side to avoid its locking again. You need to be careful while working on this process. If the technique is incorrectly used, there is a possibility that the door lock may get damaged.

Trying this method for the deadbolt locks which be of no effect as those locks can’t be opened with the card. For such types of locks, you will require the locksmith himself for help.

a. Credit cards

The card should be of good quality and should be very flexible as you know the process requires bending and pressing of the card.
