You can also place it along the gap between the window doors or the corners of the windows. You should familiarize yourself with the working of the window sensor. These are either wired or wireless. These are composed of reed switches and magnets. Magnets are in the shape of a small metal box.
One of the parts of the magnetic sensor remains stationary and the other one is movable. The main sensor is attached to the frame and the other part to the window pane. When the window is pulled open, these two get separated, the alarm rings and alerts the control panel.
Step 3: Obstruct the button
You can obstruct the button easily and stop the alarm from ringing and alerting the security office and the police. You can do so by putting an object in between the sensor and the smaller piece attached to the window pane. Some magnets are placed on the frame or inside the door jamb.
You can keep the button engaged by putting a stick to hold the sensor for long. You can also keep a card stock or a thin stiff material in the betwixt of the button and the window door.
Step 4: Fasten your button blocker
To set off the alarm for a long time and to prevent it from activating after you leave, you need to fasten your button blocker. There are a few ways you can do this. You can apply a durable tape tightly so that it can hold the button and keep it pressed and can remove it as per your wish. If you want to disable it permanently, you can glue the button blocker in the same place.
Step 5: Remove the obstruction when the alarm is disengaged
Do not forget to remove the button blocker after disabling the alarm. You should bypass the alarm before taking out the blocker. You should wait for the alarm to switch off and then slide the blocker out slowly.
