Local storage means saving your clips to the local storage when there is an internet failure. In the Arlo Q, there is no such thing as Local storage. But in the Arlo Q Plus, it has an SD card as an option for local storage. But do keep in mind that back up in local storage, does not mean it has back up in the cloud storage. However, by default, the videos do get updated in your cloud. The local storage is essential when there is a power failure, and it is unable to back up to your cloud. So, in that case, it backs up to your local storage.
